This guide explains how to remove unwanted courses from your active list by moving them to the bin. We will cover how to remove individual courses, how to use the batch tool, and the important differences between binning and archiving content.
Top tips before you begin
Archive vs Bin: Before you proceed, consider if you might need the course's enrolment data in the future. Moving a course to the bin leads to the permanent loss of training records. If you want to remove access for learners but keep their training history for your audit trail, we strongly recommend you Archive the course instead.
The 30-day safety net: When you move a course to the bin, it remains there for 30 days before being automatically and permanently deleted. During this window, you can still restore the course with all associated records intact.
Permanent means permanent: Once a course is permanently deleted (either manually from the bin or after the 30-day period elapses), it cannot be restored. Neither you nor the Nimble support team can recover these records from backups. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
