How to add a course background

Introduction

In this article, we’re going to show you how to add a background image to your course.

Top tips before you begin

• Your background image surrounds the page area and allows you to inject your company’s own unique style into the course, and make it feel much more personal for your learners.
• How much of your background image is visible will depend on the devices that your learners are using. Because of that, it’s best to use a patterned image, or a scene that doesn’t feature people or writing.
• To ensure that your background looks great on the widest possible range of devices, aim to use an image that’s 1920 X 1080 pixels.
• Your background image won’t be visible to learners on devices such as mobile phones.

Adding a background image

To add a background image:

1. From the bar that runs down the left of the side menu, click the Branding button.
2. From the side menu, click Background.

Using your own background image

3. Click the button and select the image that you’d like to use. You’ll see a progress bar whilst the image uploads.

4. Once the image has uploaded, click the image and then click the button in the bottom-right of the screen.

Using a background image from the Nimble Library

Nimble Author provides instant access to a carefully curated selection of photographic backgrounds. To select a background from the Nimble Library:

5. From beneath the Choose a course background heading, select Nimble Library.
6. Click on the image you’d like to use.
7. Click the button in the bottom-right of the screen.
