Enrolling users onto a course gives them access to it, so they can start learning. This article shows you how to enrol one or more users onto one or more courses in Nimble LMS 2, all in one go. It's for admins who look after users, courses or enrolments.
Top tips before you begin
- To enrol users, you'll need one of these roles: Account admin, User admin, Course admin, Learner admin or Enrolment admin.
- You can start from the Users page or the Enrolments page, and the steps are the same from both.
- Important: Users get an email inviting them to their courses as soon as you confirm the enrolment.
- If you get stuck at any point, our Support team is here to help Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm UK time (except Bank Holidays). You can also contact your Customer Success Manager.
How to enrol users onto courses
Open the Enrol page
- Go to the Users page or the Enrolments page from the main menu on the left of the screen.
- Select the Enrol button at the top of the page.
| Users page - From the users page, select the Enrol button at the top of the page, to the left of the Add user button. | Enrolments page - From the enrolments page, select the Enrol button at the top of the page, to the left of the Export (.csv) button. |
- Find the people you'd like to enrol. Users are listed alphabetically by surname, 25 to a page. To find people, you can:
a. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select a page number to see the next set of people.
b. Enter part of a person's name in the Search box at the top of the screen. To see everyone again, select Clear.
c. Select the Filters button to narrow down the list, for example by team, group or the date they were added. Choose your options from the drop-down lists, then select the Apply button. You may also see options under Custom fields, which are set up for your organisation. Select the tick box next to each person you'd like to enrol. The Select users panel at the top of the page will show how many people you've selected. Your ticks stay in place when you move to another page of the list.
Tip: To select everyone on the current page, select the tick box next to the Name column heading. A green bar will appear. To select everyone in the list, on every page, select the Select all [number] items in this section link in that bar. If you've searched or used filters, this only selects the people in your results.
- Once you've chosen your learners, select the Proceed button.
- Find the courses you'd like to enrol your users onto. Courses are listed alphabetically by title. You can use the page numbers, the Search box and the Filters button in the same way as you did for users. The Enrolments column shows how many people are currently enrolled on each course. To find out more about a course, select the information icon on the right of its row. A pop-up window will open showing the course's description, duration and tags. Select the X to close it.
- Select the tick box next to each course you'd like to enrol your users onto. To select several courses at once, use the tick box next to the Course title column heading, in the same way as you did for users.
- Select the Enrol button.
- A pop-up window will open asking you to confirm the enrolment. Check the number of users and courses in the pop-up window. To see which courses you've chosen, select the arrow next to Courses. Select the Confirm button once you're happy.
If you're enrolling a lot of people
Large enrolments can take a little while to finish. In this case, you'll see an Enrolling users... message with an option to view the progress.
- To check how the enrolment is going, select the View progress link in the message, or the hourglass icon next to your profile icon in the top-right of the page.
- The Processing page will open. It shows a progress bar and a percentage. Next to Completed, it also shows how many enrolments have been done so far.
