This guide explains how to archive a course within Nimble LMS 2. Archiving is the best way to retire content that is no longer needed for active study while ensuring you retain all the valuable enrolment and completion data for your records.
Top tips before you begin
Preserve your data: Unlike moving a course to the bin, archiving allows you to keep all enrolment data in the learning archive. This is essential for maintaining a robust audit trail for compliance.
Learner access: Once a course is archived, it is immediately removed from the learner’s dashboard. They will no longer be able to launch the course or view its content.
Archive vs Bin: If you think you might need to report on who completed this training in the future, always choose Archive. Only use the bin for content created in error or items with no historical value.
Archiving a single course
Log into your Nimble LMS 2 account.
From the menu on the left of the screen, select Manage Courses.
Locate the course you wish to retire and select the Options icon (the three dots) next to the course title.
Select Archive.
A confirmation prompt will appear; select Confirm to move the course to your archive.
Archiving multiple courses (Batch action)
On the Manage Courses page, select the checkboxes next to all the courses you wish to archive.
Once you have made your selection, select the Options button at the top of the course list.
Select Archive.
Viewing your archived courses
If you need to review which courses have been archived or access their data:
Navigate to the Manage Courses screen.
Select the Archived tab at the top of the list.
From here, you can view the details of archived courses or choose to restore them to active status if required.
