Introduction
In this article, we’re going to show you how to add multiple choice questions to your pages.
Top tips before you begin
- Multiple choice questions allow you to ask your learners a question, and allow your learners to respond using a pre-defined selection of answers.
- Multiple choice questions are a super way of helping your learners to check their understanding of the content that you’ve delivered.
- Multiple choice questions can be used in pages throughout your course as a way to enhance interactivity, as well as in your assessment and survey.

Adding a multiple choice block to a page
To add a multiple choice block to a page:
- Whilst editing a page, drag and drop a Multiple choice (
) block from the Add content section of the side menu and onto the page.
- Select the drag and drop block.
- From the toolbar, click the edit (
) button.
Entering your question
To enter your question:
- Click in the Question field.
- Enter your question.
You can format your question using the toolbar that appears above the text area. To apply formatting to your question text:
- Select the text you’d like to format.
- Select the format you’d like to apply from the toolbar.
The formatting options, from left to right, are:

Entering your options/answers
To enter your answers:
- In the Options section, enter your answers in the Option text fields.
Adding options/answers
To add more answers:
- Click the
button.
Deleting options/answers
To delete answers:
- Click the
button to the option you’d like to delete.
Rearranging options/answers
To change the order that the options are displayed in:
- Click the = next to the item you’d like to move and drag it to where you’d like to see it in the list.
Setting the correct answer(s)
To set the correct answer(s):
- Place a tick next to the correct answer.
If there are multiple correct answers:
- Tick the Does your question have more than one correct answer checkbox.
- Place a tick next to the correct answers.
Adding feedback (pages only)
You can add feedback text to your multiple choice questions that will be displayed once your learners have answered the question. This option is only available when adding multiple choice questions to pages (it is not available in assessments or surveys). Don’t forget that the same text will be displayed whether the question was answered correctly or incorrectly, so you should make the text neutral to cover both of these circumstances.
To add feedback text:
- Enter your text into the Feedback field.
You can format your question using the toolbar that appears above the text area. To apply formatting to your question text:
- Select the text you’d like to format.
- Select the format you’d like to apply from the toolbar.
The formatting options, from left to right, are:

Returning to the page
To return to the page:
- Click the
in the top-right of the screen.
How your learners interact with it
Once you’ve added a multiple choice question, your learners simply tick the correct answers and then select the Submit button.
If your multiple choice question is on a page, your learner will be informed whether they answered correctly or incorrectly and your feedback text will be displayed.
