Introduction
In this article, we’re going to show you how to add text popups to your pages.
Top tips before you begin
- Text popups provide customisable buttons on your page using a pre-defined set of icons, colours and shapes. If you want to be able to customise the text on your buttons, try using the accordion interaction instead.
- Text popups are a smashing way of reducing the amount of text that’s initially visible on your pages. This makes them look much more approachable for your learners.
- Text popups make your courses more engaging for your learners, and help them to feel control over the pace at which content is being delivered.
Adding a text popup block to a page:
To add a text popup block to a page:
- Whilst editing a page, drag and drop a Text popup (
) block from the Add content section of the side menu and onto the page.
- Select the text popup block. From the toolbar, you can choose whether to use small icons or large icons. Important note: This setting applies to all buttons within the text popup block.
- From the toolbar, click the edit (
) button to begin entering your content.
- Select the icon drop-down and choose the icon you'd like displayed on your button.
- Click the colour drop-down and select the colour you'd like to use on your button. You can choose between your primary colour, your accent colour or a selection of pre-defined options that have been chosen to work beautifully together.
- Select the Shape drop-down and choose the shape you'd like to use for your button. You can choose between a circle, square or triangle.
- Enter the text you'd like to be displayed when the button is clicked.

If you'd like to add more than one button, you can click the
button to add more. Once you're finished, click the
button in the top-right.
How your learners interact with it
Once you've added a text popup block to your page, your learners simply click the buttons to display the text associated with them.
To dismiss the popup, they click the Close button.
