This guide explains how to locate and restore a course that has been archived. Whether a course was archived by mistake or you have decided to reintroduce an old module, the restoration process allows you to bring the course—and its associated data—back into your active library.
Top tips before you begin
The Safety Net: Think of the "archive" as a temporary holding area. While items here are hidden from learners and standard reports, they are not permanently gone.
Check Your archive: If you can't find a course in your main list, always check the "archived" area first before assuming it has been permanently removed.
Review Settings: When you restore a course, it is often a good idea to check the "Assigned Teams" and "Due Dates" to ensure they are still relevant before making the course active again.
Restoring Archived Courses
If a course has been moved to the archive, it can be recovered and returned to your managed courses list with just a few actions.
How to restore a course
To bring a deleted course back into circulation:
Navigate to the Manage Courses area from your main dashboard.
Select the Archive from the left hand menu.
Locate the course you wish to recover click the three dots next to the course name.
Select the Restore option.
The LMS will prompt you to confirm the restoration. Select Confirm to move the course back into your active course library.
Batch Restoring Courses
When you need to recover more than one course, Nimble LMS 2 provides a bulk action tool that saves you from having to restore each item individually.
How to restore courses en-masse
To restore multiple courses to your active library:
Navigate to the Manage Courses area from your dashboard.
Select the Archive from the left hand menu.
Select the checkboxes on the left-hand side for every course you wish to bring back.
Tip: If you want to restore everything in the bin, select the master checkbox at the top of the list.
Once you have made your selection, select the Options menu.
From the dropdown list, select Restore.
A confirmation window will appear asking you to verify the number of courses you are restoring. Select the Confirm button to complete the process.
What happens after restoration?
Once restored, the course will disappear from the "Archive" view and reappear in your main Manage Courses list.
Learner Progress: Any historical data or progress for learners who were previously enrolled will typically be preserved.
Visibility: You may need to update the course status to "Active".
