Introduction
In this article, we’re going to show you how to add audio blocks to your pages.
Top tips before you begin
- An audio block provides an audio player within your page. Your learners must click on the play button to start the audio playing.
- If you want your audio to start playing automatically when your learners open the page, try using tutor audio instead.
- If you’re using audio, don’t forget you’ll want to be sure your learners have access to headphones or speakers. It’s a great idea to add a note at the beginning of your course that audio is required so that your learners can find headphones before they begin.
- You should always add a transcript to your audio. This is important because it ensures that learners without headphones or speakers, or people with hearing disabilities, can still understand your content.
- If you’re narrating the text on your page, make sure that you’ve finalised that text before recording your audio – otherwise you’ll need to update it if the text changes!
- Nimble Author supports audio in the .mp3 format. It you have audio in a different file format, you'll need to convert it to an mp3 file - here are a few free to use online tools to help you do that: https://convertio.co/
