Once you’ve built your courses and added categories to your ecommerce site, you need to create your products. Products are things you sell. You can think of creating a product as a lot like putting one (or more) courses into retail packaging so that they look nice on the shelf in your shop.
Adding a product
To add a product to your Nimble ecommerce catalogue, you log into your LMS and then:
- From the LMS home screen, click the
Shop button in the top left nav bar (if the Shop button is missing, just contact your Customer Success Manager for help).
- To add a new product, click the
button.
- Complete the fields and click the
button.
- Category – The Category that you’d like your product to appear under.
- Product title – The name of your product, as you’d like it displayed to your learners.
- Product description – The description you’d like displayed next to your product in the catalogue – think of this as a short, punchy sales pitch for your product.
- Show course list – Tick this if you’d like a list of the courses your product contains to appear next to the product. This only works when the product contains more than one course.
- Product status – Live (if you’d like it to be available to purchase) or Not live (if you don’t want it to be available to purchase).
Adding a product image
Think of your product image as the design on the packaging that your product comes in. Use something, bold, vibrant and meaningful to your learners. For optimal display, your image should be 200 X 125 pixels and in JPG or PNG format.
- Click the
button.
- Select the image from your computer.
- Click the
button.
Adding courses to your product
Once you’ve created your product, you should attach the courses that you’d like to sell to the product. Think of this as putting the things you’re selling into the packaging. You can create a product that contains multiple courses – allowing you to build themed packs, for example.
Please note: should you wish to delete a product and had a course added, you must first delete that course, before deleting the product, or the course will still be assigned and will no longer appear in the list within a new product to allow you to add.
To add a course to your product:
- Scroll down to the Courses section and click the
button.
- Complete the fields and click the
button.
- Course folder – The folder containing the course you’d like to add.
- Course – The course you’d like to add.
Adding a price to your product
To add a price to your product:
- Scroll down to the Product pricing section and click the
button.
- Complete the fields and click the
button.
- Currency – The currency your learners should be billed in.
- Value (ex. Tax) – The cost (before tax) of your product.
- Tax – The amount of tax you need to add to your product.
- Total Value – The total billing cost of your product.
