You can now set a course background colour and remove the menu logo
You told us that although it's great to be able to set a background image for your courses, sometimes you'd like to be able to use a background colour instead - and now you can!
- From the bar that runs down the left of the side menu, click the Branding button.
- From the side menu, click the cross on the Background image to remove it.
- From the side menu, click Background colour.
- Set your colour using the colour slider and picker, or enter the hex code for your colour if you know it, and then click the Save button.
We also heard that sometimes, you don't want to have a logo in the course menu. If you'd like to remove the logo:
- From the bar that runs down the left of the side menu, click the Branding button.
- From the side menu, click the cross on the Menu logo to remove it.
You can now display a "Watch video" button on the page rather than embedding the full video
Sometimes you want to provide your learners with access to a video, but would rather display a simple button than embed the whole video in the page. As part of this update, you can!
- Whilst editing a video block, from the Select display settings section, choose the Display 'watch video' button only.
- When you return to the page, instead of the typical embedded video block, you'll see a
button instead. When clicked, your video will play in full screen.
File downloads now save with their filename
Previously when your learners clicked on a file download block and chose to save the file, the filename would be an unusual looking string of characters. Now, the filename will be the name of the file that you uploaded into your course.
We've made uploading SCORM packages easier
Previously if you wanted to make a SCORM package available to your learners, you had to create a course in Nimble Author, exit the course, go into the course settings and overwrite it with a SCORM package. You told us that this could be better - and we agreed.
Now, to upload a SCORM package you can:
- Open the Courses section of the LMS.
- From the row of buttons above the course list, choose the Import SCORM package button.
- In the Title box, enter a title for your SCORM course.
- Click the Browse button and select the SCORM course you'd like to upload (don't forget: Nimble LMS supports SCORM 1.2 packages but not SCORM 2004).
- Click the Continue button. Once your package has been uploaded, you'll be taken to the Settings page for the course.
