Introduction
In this article, we’ll show you how to upload and test a SCORM package in SCORM Cloud.
Top tips before you begin
This article assumes that you’ve already created a SCORM Cloud account. If you haven’t, just follow the steps in this article: Signing up for a SCORM Cloud account
SCORM Cloud is an industry standard tool developed by Rustici Software. If you’re experiencing problems with:
- Using a SCORM package you’ve created with Nimble Author in a third-party LMS
- Using a SCORM package you’ve acquired from a third-party in Nimble LMS
You should test the package using SCORM Cloud to identify whether the problem is with the package or the LMS.
Uploading a SCORM package to SCORM Cloud
To upload a SCORM package to SCORM Cloud:
- Log into SCORM Cloud.
- In the top-right of the screen, click the + Add Content button.
- Click Import a SCORM, AICC, xAPI or cmi5 package.
- Click the Browse button and select the SCORM package you would like to upload.
- Click the Import Course button and wait for the SCORM package to upload.
Testing the SCORM package
To test the SCORM package:
- Click the green Launch button.
- If you encounter a message that advises, “We attempted to launch your course in a new window, but a popup blocker is preventing it from opening. Please disable popup blockers for this site” don’t worry – just click the Launch Course button.
- Work through the course. If your problem relates to analytics from the course, be sure to complete the assessment.
- Once you’ve finished the course, exit it.
- Check that the analytics tracked in SCORM Cloud correctly reflect your completion of the course.

The steps that you should take from here depend on your scenario.
Testing a Nimble Author course that doesn’t work in your own LMS
If you were testing a Nimble Author course that doesn’t work in your own LMS but the package did work in SCORM Cloud, the problem is with your own LMS. You should contact your LMS provider in the first instance and explain that:
- You have a SCORM package that doesn’t work in their LMS
- You’ve tested the SCORM package in SCORM Cloud and it works successfully
- You’d like assistance with getting the package working in their LMS
If you were testing a Nimble Author course that doesn’t work in your own LMS and the package didn’t work in SCORM Cloud either, please let us know.
Testing a third-party SCORM course that doesn’t work in Nimble LMS
If you were testing a third-party SCORM course that doesn’t work in Nimble LMS but the package did work in SCORM Cloud, please let us know.
If you were testing a third-party SCORM course that doesn’t work in Nimble LMS and it doesn’t work in SCORM Cloud either, please contact the provider of the SCORM package in the first instance and explain that:
- Their SCORM package doesn’t work in Nimble LMS
- You’ve tested the SCORM package in SCORM Cloud and it doesn’t work either
- You’d like assistance with getting the package working
