Users are people who have access to your LMS to complete courses. Optionally, they can also be granted administrative permissions, allowing your wider team to assist in managing your learning programme. This article explains how to manually add a single user to your LMS.
Top tips before you begin
- Adding a single user is the best way to set up individual new starters. However, if you are looking to add a large number of users at once, consider performing a bulk import instead.
- If you intend to assign the user to a Team or Group immediately, these must be created first. Please see our articles on How to create a group and How to create a team.
- After the user has been created, they will automatically receive an email with instructions on how to log into their account for the first time.
How to add a single user
- Log into your Nimble LMS 2.
- From the menu on the left of the screen, select Users.
- Select the Add user button located at the top of the page, and from the dropdown, select Add single user.
- Complete the Add user form with the relevant details:
- Basic information: Enter the user's First name, Last name, and a valid Email address.
- Permissions: Select the appropriate checkboxes for the user's role.
- Learner access: Tick this to allow the user to take courses and access learning materials.
- Admin access: Tick this if the user requires administrative privileges to manage the LMS. Note: If you provide a user with admin access, you will be prompted to select the specific Role you would like to assign them. See our article about Roles for further advice.
- Optional: If you wish to assign the user to specific Groups or Teams, you can select them from the relevant fields.
- Optional: If you have custom fields, you can complete them here.
- Select the Add button at the bottom of the form.
- A confirmation screen will appear displaying the details you have just entered. Review them carefully:
- If the information is correct, select the Confirm button to create the user account.
- If you spot a mistake, select Cancel to return to the form and make corrections.
